Free Programs


These free programs are open to everyone at no charge plus the YMCA has financial assistance so anyone can become a member of the Y or participate in Y programs.

Family Night (monthly)

An evening of free, fun family time every month on the third Friday from 6:00pm to 8pm. Activities include swimming, basketball and racquetball. Try rock climbing while staff belays you in our climbing gym or enjoy a swim in our large swimming pool with toys, a slide and a giant hot tub.

Potluck Lunch (monthly)

Come and enjoy a healthy lunch at the Y on the first Friday of each month from 12:30pm to 1:30pm. It is a simple way to meet new friends so bring yourself and a side dish, drink or desert to share.  Use the Y facility after lunch for free.

Nutrition Workshop (monthly)

When you eat healthy food you feel better, look better, have more energy, think more clearly and enjoy life more!  Learn how to eat more healthful and make better food choices for yourself and your family.  Learn dates and times on the 2018 Nutrition Workshop flyer.

YMCA Open House (April)

Held every year on the second Saturday in April on the same day as the Pear Blossom Festival in conjunction with the YMCA’s signature event, the Pear Blossom Run and Mayor’s Cup Fun Run.  Next one is April 14, 2018.  A free pancake feed is served after you explore the booths and games in the gym.

Water Safety Day (June)

Held on a Saturday in June from 12 noon to 2 pm at the YMCA.  Next one is June 2, 2018.  Join us for a day of water safety, fun and education as professionals teach pool, lake, and river safety. Activities include swim lesson evaluations, lifejacket fittings, safe boating practices, and water rescue demonstrations. Lots of booths like the American Red Cross, US Marines, US Army, Mercy Flights Explorers, and Coast Guard will be on site to talk to kids and families.  Free lifejackets are given out to the first 50 youth.

Halloween at the Y aka Trunk-o-Treat (October)

Held every year on October 31 Halloween night from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in the Y parking lot. With over 30 decorated cars and 700 kids in costume, this event is a safe, fun, event for the whole family. There are three ways to join in: 1) Donate treats and prizes, 2) Decorate your car trunk like you would your front porch and pass out the treats, or 3) Bring your kids to trick-or-treat from car to car.

Jingle Bell Jog (December)

Held the week before Christmas.  Last one was December 18, 2017.  We gather at 6:30pm where one group runs about 3 miles and the other group walks about 1 mile, all enjoying a neighborhood decorated with Christmas lights.
