Rock Climbing

The YMCA Climbing Gym has 8 twenty foot top rope climbing walls, a bouldering climbing cave and an eight foot bouldering wall. Bouldering is climbing sideways on an un-roped wall where the climber’s feet do not go higher than 4 feet high. There are many possible routes for all skill levels from beginner to advanced climbers. Rock climbing is a great challenge for you and your friends. Staff are available during open hours to assist you in learning to climb and to belay climbers looking to try the walls. Required equipment is provided by the YMCA. Training is required before participants can belay other climbers. Climbing Gym hours are Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm plus the third Friday of each month for family night from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
