Camp Somewhere

THE TRADITION CONTINUES!

The Rogue Y has been running summer camp programs since the summer of 1948. Since then our camp programs have taken campers out of the city and into nature. We have hosted camps from the coast to the mountains and both north & south of the Rogue Valley. Over the years the camp program has been described after the location where it was hosted such as Camp Diamond Lake, Camp McLoughlin, Camp Apserkaha, and Camp Latgawa.

Each summer we have also hosted many overnight camp experiences that took campers beyond those camp locations. Our long heritage of connecting youth with the many outdoor opportunities that surround us has led us to re-brand and re-name our camp after all the places we go. Starting during the summer of 2019 all of our camp programs will be hosted under our name that reflects all the places we go, YMCA Camp Somewhere.

The identity of our camp has always come from our traditions, our commitment to the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility, and our continued development of camps to engage youth. So we hope you will join us this summer at Camp Somewhere, whether that is at the beach, the lake, the river, or all of them. Our programs are sure to take your child Somewhere this summer. We want every camper to experience the outdoors, to feel free from the routines of the school year, to get dirty, and most importantly to have fun.

Our Camp Somewhere Programs

We believe that the camp experience is transformational. YMCA Camp Somewhere gives kids the chance to make new friends, learn new skills and interact with nature. Our camps teach young people how to be more independent and contribute to a group as they engage in physical, social-emotional and educational activities.

Day Camp

Day camp at the Y is led by experienced staff and offers nearly all the benefits of overnight camp – new outdoor experiences, skill–building and lasting friendships – programs are offered at local elementary schools, with trips to the outdoors while allowing campers to return home each afternoon.

Overnight Camp

Located in picturesque settings across Oregon, overnight camps can stretch from one night to an entire week and are led by a dedicated team of staff who ensure campers enjoy outdoor adventures and new friendships that last a lifetime.
